New Multinational CIMIC Group Battalion Commander

The Change of Battalion Commander Ceremony took place on 22 November 2017 in “Mario FIORE” Barracks where Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) is based. After one year fully of activities, Lieutenant Colonel Manuel SOLASTRI handed over the leadership of the Italian Army Unit specialized in Civil Military Cooperation. In few days he will take up duty as Military Assistant of NATO KFOR Commander in Kosovo.

Lieutenant Colonel Francesco DE SANTIS, coming from COMFORDOT (Comando per la Formazione, Specializzazione e Dottrina dell’Esercito) took over his position.

The Ceremony was chaired by MNCG Commander Col. Francesco GRECO at the presence of representatives of all Partner Nations and all Italian Armed Forces which the MNCG Headquarters consists of.

During his speech Col. GRECO highlighted the training proficiency achieved by MNCG Battalion as member Unit of NATO Response Force 2018, fully complying with the high standard capabilities requested by NATO. Furthermore, the CIMIC Battalion serves as the specialists’ pool where the CIMIC operators are selected from, ready to be detached all over the theaters of operation where Italian Army is called to play.
