12th CIMIC Unit Commanders’ Conference (CUCC) preparations start

Continuing the tradition of fruitful CIMIC Units Commanders’ annual reunions

 

A unique opportunity to convene and share civil-military cooperation experiences

The unique and exclusive event within the Atlantic Allianceof the CIMIC Unit Commanders’ Conference is coming back. For the twelfth year the CUCC is going to be organized and conducted by Multinational CIMIC Group in order to discuss current CIMIC (civil-military cooperation) and CMI (civil-military interactions) developments and trends. The event is also aiming at strengthening personal and professional ties among the NATO / PfP (Partnership for Peace) participants and the non-military partners.

The conference will take place in the historic city ofVittorio Veneto from 23rd to 25th of September 2019 but preparations have already started with the aim to maintain the level of excellence achieved in past years and recognised by NATO representatives and MNCG participating nations authorities both military and political ones.

This year’s conference objective is to explore the subject of ‘‘Emerging Opportunities: CIMIC role and responsibilities with regards to Resilience in support of NATO Operations’’.

The conference, in addition to Multinational CIMIC Group Guest Speakers and the NATO/PfP representatives, will be attended by members of local authorities, International Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, Italian universities and the media. The purpose is to give the civilian and military audience the opportunity to interact, have open discussions on the proposed topics and thus a better understanding of their impact on NATO CIMIC/CMI and MNCG mission and role.

The activities of the Conference will be held at “The Museum of the Battle”located in a historical structure built in XVI and based on the collection of items relating to the First World War collected by Luigi Marson, a former grenadier and a Vittorio Veneto’s Knight.

Following the 12th CIMIC Unit Commanders’ Conference the usual “Allied Command Operation CIMIC & CMI Working Group”, organized by the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers EuropeJ9 Division and conducted by MNCG, will take place at the same venuefrom 26th to the 27th of September, in order to share best practices, experiences and knowledges on civil-military cooperation.
