COOPERATION WITH POLICE IN MOGADISHU

Material and technical equipment are part of a project to improve local security

Somalia, December, 2021.
In recent weeks the ceremony for the delivery of devices for setting up checkpoints by the CIMIC operators deployed in Somalia, took place at the International Campus in Mogadishu, in favor of local police. The donation celebrates the conclusion, for the current year, of a project in the sector of civil-military cooperation (CIMIC), which has seen the Italian contingent particularly committed and attentive in allocating resources to the Somali community in the most disparate sectors: sports, education and health care. In particular, this donation aims to strengthen the capacities of the local police forces in order to guarantee a greater security framework to counter the attacks of Al Shabaab. The Commander of the Shinghani Traffic Police, Col. Mohamed Arabo Ali, thanked for the initiatives put in place with perseverance in support of the community, hoping also for the next year the continuation of the fruitful collaboration established.
