MNCG STEP UP SUPPORT TO LEBANESE COMMUNITIES’ FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19

Lebanese communities continue to receive Multinational CIMIC Group operators’ support to contain COVID-19 spread

Bint Jubayl, Lebanon

In the past weeks, as part of ongoing United Nation Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) support to host communities in their fight against the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic, the MNCG operators detached to the Joint Task Force – Lebanon Sector West (JTF-L SW) handed medical supply and personal protective equipment to the Authorities of Bint Jubayl and Dibil, respectively.

The donation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other supplies necessary for the containment of the virus, in support to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health in Bint Jubayl, will benefit communities in south-western Lebanon.

Among the items donated by the MNCG peacekeepers include 145,000 surgical masks, 70,000 FFP2 type masks, 72,000 surgical gloves, over 100 liters of sanitizing gel and other personal protective equipment.

These CIMIC activities are the continuation of similar support the MNCG operators have extended in the past years to different areas in south Lebanon, Kosovo, Niger and Horn of Africa supporting the life saving efforts of the local institutions in the face of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. MNCG supports seek to improve capabilities and enhance efforts to prevent the spread of the highly infectious virus.
