CIMIC Amongst Dolomites

Multinational CIMIC Group developed negotiation techniques in a simulated crisis scenario

Tai di Cadore (BL), october 04, 2019.

From 30 September to 4 October, the Battalion of the Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) conducted the "STABLE CADORE" exercise aimed at achieving the level of preparation provided for CIMIC (civil-military cooperation) teams in missions where MNCG soldiers are deployed, from the Horn of Africa, to the Middle East, from the Balkans to the Mediterranean Basin, and to prepare them for the annual contribution to the Joint Rapid Response Force 2020, i.e. the pool of high-readiness inter-force capabilities  to guarantee a rapid response to national needs.

The activities, planned with a day and night shifts, have been conducted in the region of Cadore, amongst Dolomites. Trainings have been focused on developing and implementing capabilities and techniques to operate in a joint, non-permissive environment characterized by high-intensity combat events (ambushes, immediate automatic responses, urban war-fighting).

Among the various trainings, the activities of role-player mediation and negotiation with local authorities and associations were useful in order to increase the peculiar skills of the CIMIC teams and symbolized the close and cordial ties that the unit maintains and develops not only in the military environment.
