THE HONORABLE FANTUZ PAYED A VISIT TO MNCG

Visit of the Deputy President of the Italian IV Defense Commission to the Mario Fiore Barracks in Motta di Livenza, civil-military cooperation specialists’ headquarters

On 14th June 2021 the Deputy President of the Italian Defense Commission, the Honorable Marica Fantuz, visited the Mario Fiore Barracks in Motta di Livenza, headquarters of the Multinational CIMIC Group.
Welcomed by the Commander, Colonel Mattia Zuzzi, the Honorable had the opportunity to visit the infrastructure of the NATO affiliated military base and to meet the personnel specialized in civil-military cooperation.
"I have known this reality for years, being originally from Meduna di Livenza - said the Hon. Fantuz - and I can proudly say that this unit represents very well the values of professionalism and tradition and, your peculiarity in the CIMIC field , has made you appreciated not only in Italy but also, and above all, worldwide", stated the Honorable who then signed the honor roll as tradition requires. Colonel Mattia Zuzzi, thanking the Deputy President of the Italian Defense Commission for the visit, the highlighted the bond that has always linked the unit to the territory. The MNCG has, in fact, always collaborated with local institutions in the organization of cultural and sporting events such as the Exhibition on the Great War and the Multinational Run, just to name the last ones in chronological order. In addition, the unit has effectively collaborated with the Treviso area during the pandemic period by organizing an extraordinary donation of blood in collaboration with the local blood donators association, providing ready-to-use assets and means in favor of the Civil Protection and sending medical personnel to the Covid centers or the Drive Through centres to support healthcare staff.
Nowadays the MNCG is also a training institution recognized by NATO in the context of civil-military cooperation, and the major contributor to the Atlantic Alliance, in terms of specialized CIMIC assets, in support of the NRF (NATO Response Force), the rapid reaction force of the North Atlantic Treaty, deployable anywhere in the world and capable of intervening in a wide range of operations.
